Dave Ramsey has done well in helping people get out of debt and get on the road to financial success. However, the Bible gives us the true answer as to how to be successful.
Pro 3:5 — Pro 3:10
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.
It shall be health to your nerves and sinews, and marrow and moistening to your bones.
Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income;
So shall your storage places be filled with plenty, and your vats shall be overflowing with new wine.
1. Depend on the Lord
When we try to figure it all out on our own, we will always come short. We need to put our trust and confidence in Jesus.
2. Acknowledge God in everything
Before we purchase something, we should ask ourselves if what we are about to purchase will bring glory and honor to God or if by going into debt to make the purchase will bring God dishonor.
3. We are not as smart as we think we are.
We need to not think we know everything but understand that God is all knowing and has all wisdom and knows what is best for us.
By following these three principles, our bodies will be blessed as well as our finances as long as we use our finances for His glory.
Lord, thank you for what you have given me. I am truly blessed and I thank you for those blessings. Help me to take what you have given me to give you glory.
