Faith is not a one time thing. Faith is understanding what someone or something can do and realizing that there is more and greater things that can be done. It is a constant learning of that person or item.
I am extremely afraid of heights on a ladder. I can get to about he third rung and then I can't go any further. However, I can go up numerous flights of stairs without any problems at all. The reason is that the cement and the stairs have been tested and tried.
This is how it is with serving Jesus. I have tested and tried Him and have realized He is more than dependable. He is stedfast and sure. Then He asks me to do something I have never done before and I have to take a step of faith that I have never used before. Knowing that He will never let me down, I take that step and my faith in Him grows greater and stronger. Paul realized this in Romans.
Rom 1:17
For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith.
Lord, help me today to take the step of faith you want me to take knowing that you are right there with me and will never leave me or forsake me.
